Applesauce Cake by Kathy Hess-Martin

 

2 cups flour            1 1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 tsp. salt         1 1/2 tsp baking soda

2 Tbls cocoa            1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg        1/2 tsp allspice

1/2 tsp cloves          1/2 cup shortening

2 cups applesauce     2 eggs

3/4 cups raisins        

 

Mix all ingredients well and pour into prepared 9 x 13 cake pan.  Sprinkle top with 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 2 Tbls sugar and 1 small pkg chocolate chips.  Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
