T. R. Baack Jr., 71, died July 27, 2004, at his residence in Miami. He was born in Abilene, Texas, and had lived in Arizona 42 years.

He was a teacher for the Miami Unified School District for 29 years. He was involved with youth golf and played on a national softball championship team.

Survivors include his wife, Patty Baack of Miami; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Pam Baack of Mesa; his mother, Mary Alice Baack of Abilene; one brother, Richard Baack of Abilene; a sister, Mary Hardt of Avondale; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted July 31 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
